About Me & My Exhibit
Since I can remember I've always had an interest in time. As a child I would listen to clocks and count the seconds, watching time pass. As I grew older I focused less on the seconds on the clocks and more on the seconds in real life. Intermingling my fascination with time into my artwork.
Time scares me but art comforts me. I like to think that all artists have this in common. We can't stop time but we can capture it. Anything from memories, thoughts, feelings, or even actions can be changed and portrayed with oil paints, watercolors, fabrics, and even poetry. Within my exhibits, I capture different aspects of my life explicitly focusing on the concept of growth. Whether it be spiritual, mental, physical, or emotional growth. I mingle vivid memories and words with rough surfaces and smooth color palettes to portray the emotion and significance of the moment. I want the viewer to go through my life and feel, connect, and compare shared experiences.
My exhibition will have a variety of mediums to showcase how different materials can be used to portray and even influence different thoughts and emotions. My use of mediums will inspire others to step outside their comfort zone. We should all be able to experience and capture our own lives in an effort to connect with others and express ourselves, finding comfort in our mediums, memories, and lives.
